Almost everyone is sold on that one term ‘heart healthy’. In reality, though a variety of whole foods (grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables) together make a heart healthy diet. Even that would be incomplete without good exercise, meal timings as well as healthy sleep patterns. Remember it is the lifestyle that matters most.
Here is a little list to help you choose, if you choose to start with the food part first. From the following list, incorporate one serving of 5 different foods each; every day in your diet. Rich in phytonutrients these foods help you prevent cardiovascular diseases:
7. Red Bell peppers
8. Dark Kidney beans
10. Brown rice
16. Green Tea
20. Sweet potatoes
Get your nutrients from whole foods themselves and avoid fad diets, your heart will thank you for it!
